What is it?
10 Vaginal ovules containing two naturally occurring probiotics:
• 109 Lactobacillus gasseri, EB01™
• 109 Lactobacillus rhamnosus, PB01™
What does it do?
Purfem probiotic™ is a natural health product for the prevention and treatment of itching, burning, dryness, odour and/or slightly increased discharge caused by an imbalance of the microbial vaginal flora.
How does it work?
Purfem probiotic™ provides the vagina with naturally occurring living lactic acid bacteria. Their activity regulates the pH of the vagina thereby restricting the growth conditions for undesirable bacteria and yeast resulting in the relief of symptoms
What is it for?
Purfem probiotic™ can be used as a treatment and a preventative measure for acute cases of burning, itching, dryness odour or discharge. In cases of bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis or a yeast infection it may also be used in conjunction with antibiotics such as Metronidazole and antifungals such as Miconazole. Purfem™ probiotic should be administered after Clindamycin as it kills gram positive bacteria such as the lactobacilli contained in purfem probiotic™.
Who should not take Purfem™?
Purfem probiotic is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.
What is the dosage?
Adults (12 years and older):
• Treatment: 1 ovule to be inserted high into the vagina every day for 6 – 8 days at bedtime.
• Preventive: immediately after the menstrual period: 1 ovule to be inserted high into the vagina every day for 4 – 6 days at bedtime.
• After antibiotic treatment: 1 ovule to be inserted high into the vagina every day for 6 – 8 days at bedtime.
